Joe Biden leads Trump in polls 5 months before U.S. election

A majority of Americans assess President Donald Trump's handling of the Corona pandemic negatively, and as the health crisis continues, his chances of re-election in November are waning, while his presumptive Democratic opponent Joe Biden is clearly ahead of him nationally, according to a poll.

According to the Washington Post/ABC News poll released Sunday, Americans generally have differing views on Trump and Biden, and although the latter is viewed less positively today than last fall, he is ahead of the president in many personal qualities, according to the newspaper.

At the same time, the poll showed that Trump supporters in particular are more enthusiastic and committed to voting for him in the November election than voters who now support Biden.

Among registered voters nationwide, 53 percent support Biden, compared to 43 percent for Trump, with a margin of 10 points between the two opponents, two months ago, when Biden's support was 49 percent to Trump's 47 percent.

Among adults, the gap between the two candidates widens to 13 points, with 53 percent supporting Biden and 40 percent supporting Trump.

According to the Washington Post, the survey, although coinciding with rapid internal changes in the country with the lack of containment of the CORONA virus and the difficult future of the economy with its gradual reactivation as well as the violence sweeping major cities, the results of the survey are not predictive regarding the political implications and the implications of the November elections, especially given the disparity between the popular vote and the results of the delegate slot as was the case in 2016.

Eighty-four percent of Trump's adult supporters said they would definitely give him their vote in
November, 68% of Biden's adult supporters said they would no doubt vote for him on Election Day, and 87% said they were enthusiastic about supporting him, and 64% were "very enthusiastic."

Biden's supporters, 74% said they were eager to support him, and only 31% said they were "very excited" about it.

As for facilitating the postal voting process, an issue that has recently been highly controversial and strongly opposed by Trump because it would allegedly lead to fraud, 87% of Democrats and 67% of independents said they support edicts. But 61% of Republicans disapproved of the move. Overall, 65% of adults expressed support for facilitating postal voting.

As for the problems that the next U.S. president will inherit, Americans have been divided on which of the candidates is better able to manage the recovery of the economy, which has been hit hard in the past few months.

Voters each received 47 percent for the economy, while voters expressed favor stake in Biden in managing efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus by 50 percent to Trump's 42 percent.

Two months ago, Trump had the highest support in the Washington Post and ABC News polls, with 48 percent support against 46 percent disapproval. According to the new poll, the rate stands at 45% for support and 53% for dissatisfaction.

On the economy, 52 percent of Americans said they support editing, compared to 44 percent who do not support his administration of the nation's economy.

The Washington Post noted that the overall poll results mask sharp differences between the two parties, adding that six in 10 Republicans currently evaluate the economy's current position positively, including about one in five saying the economy is excellent.

In contrast, the economy negatively evaluates more than eight out of 10 Democrats, and about seven in 10 independents.

None of the candidates is viewed favorably by the majority of Americans, although impressions of the president are much worse.

Forty-six percent view Biden favorably, compared to 48 percent who said they had an unpositive view of him.

As for Trump, 42 percent said they have a positive view of him, 55 percent of those who have a negative view of the president.

The random poll was conducted may 25-28, with 1,001 Americans voting nationwide, with a margin of error of less than 3.5%.
